• The End of Rear-Projection TVs

CEPro reports that Mitsubishi Electric, the last manufacturer of rear-projection television sets, has finally decided that enough is enough.

Digital Light Processing Televisions have been around for a long time and for a while provided a cheaper alternative to the new LCD and plasma TVs. Although it always seemed like a long-shot that DLP could seriously challenge the newer flatter technologies, Mitsubishi took a different tack to most manufacturers and dropped LCDs altogether, favoring DLP.

In the end, though, the inevitable has happened and it's time to say goodbye to rear projection TVs once and for all.
