Hiya Dave, Its been about a week since I requesed help on the forum, and no one come forward. I must complete my project soon, and as much as I like your player, I will have to abandon it if I can't resolve this issue. If no one there knows how to get swf's to size properly, would you consider sending me the FLA? I'll promise to return to you my bug fix, and further, to respect all your intelllectual property rights regarding the images and code involved.

To review my situation: please scroll down to the bottom folder, first option (Brochures>>>1stGuaranty) at this address:
    http://www.coastcreative.com/portfoliodemo.html

the swf loads and works, it just get sized way small.

heres a link to the swf I'm trying to load:

    Hi Dave,

Just downloaded the sample video files from the downloads bit - I noticed that they are hosted on your server. Would you be interested in me hosting them on another site as an alternative for you? Of course, it would all be FOC :-)

Let me know what you think

Hi Dave, I know you are a busy man, and this is my first time really checking out all that you're into, and to even realize you are the administrator of this wonderful site. So first I'd like to say thank you for the great job you are doing and the awesome assistance this site has offered. I would like your opinion on producing an online tv show. I have macromedia, dreamweaver and onlocation adobe cs3 and I am just wondering what would be the simplest road to take to do so. I have produced and hosted a community tv show for 7 years, and after taking sick at that time, I took a break. As a community tv show host, my audience was limited and therefore the show really did not get the recognition the work deserved. I would like to present same to the world via internet now. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Here are some of productions youtube.com/8338wolf. thanks again.

  10. Hey guys, sorry I haven't been answering questions here. I get quite overwhelmed sometimes by correspondence so I tend to take to ostrich approach. I'll try my best to catch up.

Yay, Paid YouTube Channels! Oh wait...

by Dave on 12th May 2013 at 10:03
Google has officially announced the first lineup of paid subscription channels. As you'd expect, this move has attracted mixed responses. The world seems full of people who decline to understand the cost of producing decent quality content (the "I need everything for free, immediately" crowd). These people have the knives out for those who are trying to find some way to make quality content generation viable.

I understand that some content can be made very cheaply and there are producers

OpenShot video editor to become multi-platform

by Dave on 3rd Apr 2013 at 03:50
Three years ago I posted a short blog entry about a new video editing application for Linux called OpenShot. I asked if anyone thought that it would be a viable free editing option for the masses.

The post got exactly one response and that took two years. This highlights a real problem with Linux-only editing solutions: Very few people actually edit video on Linux (ignoring specialist high-end

Here's a lovely and fascinating video showing Nikon's lens-making process. Nice to see how much of it is done with real human hands.

Comparing 48 fps to 24 fps

by Dave on 14th Dec 2012 at 05:53
Now that I've seen The Hobbit in both 24 fps and 48 fps it's finally time to announce the verdict. Was I right in predicting that it would be an overall improvement? Watch the video to see if you agree with me...
