Making an image background transparent (photoshop)

I'm trying to use an online program to create an iron on decal for a shirt. I've created a .gif file with a transparent background, but I can only make it upload with a white background. Does anyone have any thoughts on how I might be able to get this to work better?

If you like, you could try uploading the gif in a message here to see if it works properly. If it does, you'll need to contact the online service you're uploading to. They're the only ones who can tell you why it's not working there.

i jst assumed the only way of doing it is perhaps making the background transparent??

is there maybe any easier way?

As I understand it, the image does have a transparent background that is getting lost in the upload.

Anyway, I'm going to close this thread because it's very old now and it's probably time to open a new thread for anyone who wants help with transparent images.
