    Find Autocomplete passwords in I.E.

I am trying to disable the Autocomplete function in I.E. 6. I have unchecked all the boxed in Autocomplete setting, and deleted the history file. I have NOT deleted the password file yet. I am trying to find out where it is stored so I can look at the information before I delete all the entries. Does anyone know where the Passwords are stored on the computer. My OS is XP PRO and I am using I.E. 6.0.2800. Please help before I go crazy with the Autocompletion box popping up.

Sorry, I don't know where that info is stored but I'd be surprised if it was easily accessible. I would expect it to be well-encrypted somewhere. On the other hand this is Microsoft we're talking about so it could just be a plain text file

    To disable autocomplete:
Go to Tools > Internet Options
    Click the Advanced tab
Scroll down to "Use inline AutoComplete" (under Browsing) and uncheck the box.

The Protected Storage information is saved in a special location in the Registry. The base key of the Protected Storage is located under the following key:
    "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Protected Storage System Provider"
You can browse the above key in the Registry Editor (RegEdit), but you won't be able to watch the passwords, because they are encrypted. Also, some passwords data are hidden by the operating system.
You can use a utility like Protected Storage PassView v1.26
You can use this utility to delete entries.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\IntelliForms\SPW The passwords that IE saved will be stored in this location
