How do I make an image look ghostly (semi-transparant)

    Hi everyone.

I'm so glad I've found this site

I'm designing a cover for a book and am trying to make an image semi-transparant.....a ghostly figure.

I've got photoshop but am not really that proficient with it yet, so could anyone tell me how I can make my figures ghostly

Any ideas would be very much appreciated.

Look forward to hearing from you all.

    All the best,

    Neovistas

It's hard to know the best approach without seeing the image but layer opacity is something you should look into. You can make any layer transparent to any degree, showing the layer underneath.

It might help if you could upload the image with your reply or show us an URL with the image.

Hey, take a look at this link and see if it is something like what you want to do with your image. It may be useful but if it is different we can try and come up with something else
