    2 problems with embeded video

    hello,
    i embed video(display with media player) to page, but i have two problems:
    * there is a black screen when i open the page, the movie starts when the button is pushed. i need that there would be not a blask screen, but a first frame of movie. but don't know how to do it;
    * this html doesn't work in mozilla: if autostart=1, it works, but when i want to play movie after clicking the button, the screen disappears.

    this is the code: i changed the tags "<>" with "{}" because the code wasn't displayed in the message:

    {body}
    {OBJECT ID="MediaPlayer"
    WIDTH="160" HEIGHT="130"
    CLASSID="CLSID:22D6F312-B0F6-11D0-94AB-0080C74C7E95"
    TYPE="application/x-oleobject"}
    {PARAM NAME="FileName" VALUE="_a.wmv"}
    {PARAM NAME="autostart" VALUE="0"}
    {PARAM NAME="showcontrols" VALUE="0"}
    {EMBED TYPE="application/x-mplayer2"
    SRC="_a.wmv"
    NAME="MediaPlayer"
    WIDTH="160" HEIGHT="130"
    AUTOSTART="0" SHOWCONTROLS="0"}
    {/EMBED}{/OBJECT}

    {IMG SRC="rodyti1.bmp" NAME="but"
    border=0
    onMouseOver="document.but.src='rodyti2.bmp'"
    onMouseOut="document.but.src='rodyti1.bmp'"
    onclick="document.MediaPlayer.play()"}
    {/body}

    thanks for any help

    Re: 2 problems with embeded video

    I don't think there's any easy way to do this. Perhaps it would be possible to create some sort of event trigger from the player and some JavaScript to tell it to pause on the first frame, but I have no idea how well this would work (if at all).

    Another approach could be to overlay an image file (in a layer) on top of the video screen and then make it invisible when you click the play button.

    All quite complex though. The following page has some of the sort of information you'll need:

    thank you, i will look for information about it. could you look at code, maybe you would see what is wrong with it, because when the control of movie is given to image, the movie doesn't play in mozilla; when i set autostart=1, the movie plays in mozilla.

    I had a quick look - it could be something to do with needing to specify "document.layers" for mozilla. That would be worth investigating. Otherwise I'm not sure.
