    The term "Hits"

Last night I watched a news item about a local website which was sold for a vast sum of money ( Amongst the many misleading and generally useless facts in the story was a whole segment about how many hits the site was getting.

In response I finally got a website going which I've been meaning to do for a long time. explains why hits are worse than useless - they are very misleading.

If you ever hear someone refer to the number of hits a website gets, please strike a blow in the name of accurate information and challenge it. Even better, refer them to

Hits means nothing and it's time the public stopped being duped.

    Thanks Dave!

Great info! Guess I'm still ignorant to a lot things. I'm always looking for tidbits like this because I probably take too much for granted.
