    The term "Hits"

Last night I watched a news item about a local website which was sold for a vast sum of money (www.trademe.co.nz). Amongst the many misleading and generally useless facts in the story was a whole segment about how many hits the site was getting.

In response I finally got a website going which I've been meaning to do for a long time. www.hits-explained.com explains why hits are worse than useless - they are very misleading.

If you ever hear someone refer to the number of hits a website gets, please strike a blow in the name of accurate information and challenge it. Even better, refer them to www.hits-explained.com.

Hits means nothing and it's time the public stopped being duped.

    Thanks Dave!

Great info! Guess I'm still ignorant to a lot things. I'm always looking for tidbits like this because I probably take too much for granted.
