    Parametric EQ

Can someone tell me what this is? An amp I want to buy has a Parametric EQ but I don't know what it means. Thanks.

    Re: Parametric EQ

It means you can select which frequency to adjust. A simple EQ will have knobs which only adjust certain set frequencies and will be called High, Mid, Low, etc. (Or Treble, Bass, etc).

A parametric will have two knobs for each adjustment. One knob will select the frequency and the other knob will increase or reduce the level of that frequency.

    Parametric is good..

Also known as a sweepable equaliser. It's a good thing to have.

be careful what sort of sound you put through a parametric...is it a voice ? guitar ?
you need to know what frequencies the sound is made of so that you can center the frequency and apply the EQ effectively without boosting the wrong signals.

If it sounds good, it is good
