    subwoofer spec

    Hi...
    Goodday.
I had a subwoofer for my receiver which got damaged during transit. The spec says RMS output : 120W (6 ohms, 100Hz, THD 10%).

I have another sub which just says 4 ohms nominal. Can i connect this to my receiver as a replacement.

    Pls help.Thx

    Sub-Woofer

    HI!

Your receiver and like all others do have their limitations. Your receiver can work with speakers rated for 6 ohms(Speaker load). Your Sub-woofer is rated 4 ohms, this load will have the receiver amplifier section work a bit harder. Please check the receiver technical specifications to see if the amplifier section can drive speaker with a 4 ohms impedance. is the receiver do not say 4 ohms in the amplifier section? I dol not recomend to use the 4 ohms sub-woofer.

    Thanks
