    mp4 vs. XP?

    HI,
I just bought a new Dell Media Center computer (E321). I did all the upgrades to Windows XP, as well as Real Player, Media Player and Quick Time. None of them will play my .mp4 files. Yet, these files playback fine on my W2K machine in all three players! I've turned off my virus program and all background programs, but no luck. I get either a "do not support this file type" or some sort of engine conflict in Real Player.

Since the problem affects all three players, it seems like it may be an OS problem, but I'm stumped. Can anyone help?

The answer is tht REal uses Quicktime codecs to play mp4 files, so you have to have the latest Quicktime to make Real Player work.
