Thread: Encoding

  1. #1

I'm a free lance videographer who's just getting started. I've done a few weddings and such and I would like to know if there's a way of encoding my finished DVD's so that they cannot be copied by the average person. With technology today, I'm losing prospective duplication monies from clients burning their own copies.

I feel for you, I've had the same problem. Unfortunately the copy protection offered with DVDs is only available when you create a professional master and have it duplicated in a DVD replication facility. This is completely uneconomical unless you're looking at a reasonably large budget and a large run of copies.

DVDs that you burn in your computer do not have copy protection available.
