    Miking a choir

What would be the proper way to mic a choir in a moderate sized hall from the outside left and right or middle left and right. Thanks in advance.

Is stereo separation important? The wider your mic placement, the more noticable the stereo effect will be.

Remember that there are many other placement factors in addition to left/right. How high the mics will be, the angle to the singers, the relative position of any walls or reflective surfaces, etc.

Other than that, I think it's simply a case of trying it out and seeing which works best. If a particular placement sounds best to your ears then go with that one.
