    MP4 to xvid convertion

I'm wanting to convert some mp4 videos that i've downloaded from google in divx/xvid so i can watch them on my standalone dvd player. Problem is that none of my editing programs (prem pro, mediastudio pro) recognise the mp4 videos?. I can play them in quicktime.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers.

That converts to dvd (vob/mpg) format. I want to convert to dvix/xvid.
I know Super will do it but i think the last time i loaded Super on my computer if stuffed up me being able to use my firewire card captures.

    Ok, just an update.

I ended up crossing my fingers and installing the encoder called Super.
The program is working well and i'm getting good .flv & mp4 google video to .xvid conversions for watching on my stand alone dvd player.

No problems relating to codecs/ hardware etc so i'm very happy. Making my own ring tones for my mobile phone.
