    subtitle Fonts

    Hi MCF,
Does anyone know if there any standard fonts for subtitling? Any thoughts or guides would be helpful.
    Thanks

there is not a standard, when it comes to close captioning it all depends on the machine. and when it comes to subtitles. just make sure you pick something that is CLEAR and EASY TO READ and a fairly small size

Suggestion: White text, black shadow or black text, white shadow.

Subtitles on DVDs are usually stored as "subpictures" and recreated as such. You can also [sometimes] include CC data on a DVD.
