    Microsoft Photosynth

    I'm not normally a Microsoft fan but they do have some software that we need to take notice of. One is their Media Center which I use and love despite it's flaws, but another has just caught my eye. If you haven't heard of Photosynth, go here and have a look at a live demo presentation:

    It's basically software that pulls in huge numbers of photos taken by different people, e.g. from social network sites like Flickr.com, and creates a 3D environment. You have to see it to understand it. I pretty much guarantee you'll be impressed even if you hate M$.

    It's awesome. I played with the tech preview the week they announced it, I just can't help but think that it takes way too much manual work or work with unrelated thousand-dollar-plus applications to make one of those.
