    Converting a VOB FILE

I received a short 5 min film that I shot from the editor but it is only with VOB files, how can I convert them to quicktime?

Can you ask your editor to supply the file in a more useful format? VOB is for DVDs and it's pretty difficult to work with.

If not, you'll need some sort of conversion utility. A lot of utilities can convert from AVI or MPG to Quicktime. Unfortunately you're still stuck with the VOB problem which makes it harder. I don't know of any utilities offhand that can do that but there's bound to be something out there. Do a search for something like "conversion utility VOB Quicktime".
