    Another transparency issue

    Hi everyone.

i'm trying to make an image with a white background into one with a tranparent background. It was originally a jpg but i converted to psd. Am using CS2. When i select the area using the magic wand and then hit delete it comes up with a warning saying it can't because the smart object is not directly editable.

Has anyone come accross this before and do you have a solution?

I purchased it from a photo website so perhaps it's uneditable?

Would appreciate anyones suggestions as i've been doing this for half a day at least!

    Cheers.

you need to make a new file and copy the image to the new project. If the layer is locked, you can not edit it, and a lot of time the images are locked when coming off the internet. If you need more help let me know and i can see what i can do. If you need to e-mail me i can do it for you
