    Vocal mic?

What's the best all-round vocal mic for a good price? Like the cheapest one that's good enough for professional use?

You can't go too wrong with the Shure SM58. Good, robust and versatile enough to always have a place in your kit.

But it does make a difference what the main use will be. EG is the mic for a band, an announcer, a video kit, etc??

The Sure SM58 is the industry standard workhorse. And the best part is that it cost less than $100.00. However, I agree with Dave that you have to look at the application and see what the needs are.

Thanks for the replies. The mic will be used for both singing (light rock) and speaking. $100 sounds pretty good.
