    bg color in flash site

    I run a flashsite (800x600) & i know it needs a preloader, but the one thing i cannot figure out is why everytime it is loading initially, a white rectangle covering the area where the site should be appears. I've already changed the bg color on both html files (index.htmal & site's html file) to conform to the bg colour on the main swf, and this doesnt resolve the problem... please help. Thank you.

    Sometimes it doesn't feel much like it

    Anyway, define your background color as a parameter of the embedded object like so:

    Code:
    <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,28,0" width="800" height="600" title="">
    <param name="movie" value="file.swf">
    <param name="quality" value="high">
    <param name="allowFullscreen" value="true">
    <param name="bgcolor" value="#000099">
    <embed src="file.swf" width="800" height="600" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" bgcolor="#000099" allowfullscreen="true"></embed>

    Whichever page you have the Flash file appearing on. Without looking at the site I don't know which page that is.

    Okay, I can only see the index.html page there so I think it's safe to assume that's where the code goes. I think this code should work for you:

    Code:
    <div align="center">
     <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0" width="800" height="600" title="Streetphone">
       <param name="movie" value="streetphone.swf" />
       <param name="quality" value="high" />
       <param name="bgcolor" value="#000000">
       <embed src="streetphone.swf" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="800" height="600" bgcolor="#000000"></embed>
     </object>
    </div>
