    NV GS200 panasonic camcorder

I'm a bit confuse by the specifications of this camcorder which is available here at

    http://www.simply-camcorder-prices.c...ification.html

Basically i'd like to know the frame rate of the camera, which isn't listed. Because i'm trying to film a video of water flowing and then capture the stills using software like Snatchit! However i first used a digi cam Canon Powershot G3 with 15 frames per sec and the result wasnt too impressive. Hence i have this NV GS200 panasonic camcorder my fren lent me but i cant findout what speed the frame rate is.... *sigh*

    Someone pls help!

    cheers,
    xiuwei

That's a standard PAL camera so the frame rate will be 25 fps.

The frame rate is part of the PAL video standard and doesn't normally vary between video cameras. Except for specialist equpiment, all PAL video cameras are 25fps and NTSC cameras are 30fps.

Your Canon Powershot has a lower frame rate because it's not a "real" video camera - It's a still camera which has some video functionality tacked on.

Thanks dave, u cleared my doubt cos i read about the Pal and Ntsc stuff but wasn't quite sure.. so i guess all regular camcorders will only have the same framerate unless i get something specialised like a highspeed video recorder..... *sigh*
