Are there freeware that can edit video? Or not too expensive?

It's a bit of an open question. It really depends on what you want to do, what your intended result must be, and of course how much you want to spend. If you need to do it for paid work then you should look a those professional programmes listed above. You can usually get trial versions for free so that you can get a chance to see how you'd get on.
Windows Movie Maker comes as part of Windows, so is free. It's basic but usable.

OpenShot is a promising-looking free app for Linux. No Windows version though.

Unfortunately Windows Movie maker has been phased out with Vista/Win7. Although I've never been the world's biggest fan of the program, Movie Maker has been a very good way to get started without spending money. It's a shame to see it go. It's been replaced with an online version called Windows Live Movie Maker, which I haven't investigated thoroughly but my first impressions were poor. It looked like a useless gimmicky toy.

Hi, I'm newbie in this forum. but I would like to share information about the question above, you can use Corel VideoStudio Pro X3. It's easy to use and great finishing. But, Adobe Premiere and After Effect is still the top one.
