    Buying a Microphone

When you go to an Audio Hardware store to buy a mic, should you usualy ask about the Directionality or the Impedance or Frequency Response... or research it on the net then go buy your desired Microphone?

Best thing to do is research what you want before you go. When you talk to the salesman armed with knowledge they can recommend comparable products and most times get you more bang for your buck.

Ive always found the smaller, non-chain stores offer better service, return policy's, and technical support. I know when I ask them a technical question they don't bullshit me just so they can sell me the most expensive piece of gear in the shop.
