Hey James, welcome to the forum. Always nice to see new people willing to help out, especially those with your skills.

These forums aren't the busiest on the net (yet) but they are picking up steadily. The rest of the site gets a lot of visitors and I think a few more are popping in here now. All good.

    DOH!!

*watches lil light with head tilted*

huh... what... who... as long as i don't have to edit it, record whatever you like. *LOL*

"Skills" Dave, I wouldn't say skills. *L* maybe some gifts God has blessed me with or the trial by fire you get from TV news learning on the fly job I have. But not skills And to beat it all I found the site looking for information about soldering. I hadn't do it in a while and wanted to put a male XLR on. I just wanted to remind myself how not to melt the plastic and not to get a second degree burn. Later all.

    God's Blessing,
    James E.

TV news sure does test your mettle. To be honest I think a lot of news camera ops learnt by being thrown in the deep end. Been there myself - it's sink or swim in that world

Anyway, you can't underestimate the value of experience

Go James! I always think there's something nice about seeing the person you're talking to on a forum.

And I believe I am the king of geekiness. I'll grant you second place
