    Digital camera for nature photography

I am beginner photographer and love nature photography. It can lift my mood and make me feel good. I have been using a point & shoot camera and now I planning to upgrade my old camera. A friend of mine recommends Nikon D40 and I found it at Buy.com for $549, but it seems out of my budget. Can anyone suggest me the best digital camera for nature photography under $350?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi alicefred,

The advantage of a DSLR is the very fact that you can use a variety of lenses to go near (macro), far (telephoto) or wide reaching 'ends to ends' (Ultra wide or fisheye). With this as your premise, you enter the zone of the D-SLRs. However an average (brand new) DSLR (be it the major brands in the likes of Nikon, Canon, Sony) will set you back by at least $500.

The other option is buying a 2nd hand one which needs discretion.

Are there any critical factor you are looking for in your new camera?
