How do I capture video footage from Digital camcorder disk to Edit in Sony Vegas Pro? I can't figure out how to get footage off the camcorder disk?

Go to the following page and download the user manual:
    http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/.../moviestudiohd

Go to page 18 and look for the relevant instructions. You didn't say what type of camcorder you're using, but the manual includes instructions for DVD and hard drive camcorders.

If you still can't make it work, let me know the model of camcorder, and list all the steps you're taking and exactly where in the process you get stuck.

thnaks for the reply, my program is Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0 and camcorder "Sony Handycam DCR-DVD650". I've heard/experienced trying to capture footage off DVD camcorder is confusing.

Indeed it is. In my limited experience working with DVD camcorders I found them very frustrating. The problem is that DVD was never intended to be an editing format. Hopefully the manual will provide you with usable instructions though. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
