Canon FS-100 loses audio when burning DVD

I have tried multiple Video Editing programs and DVD burners for my Canon FS-100. I have no problem converting the .mod files. Everything looks and sounds great until I burn a DVD, then no sound. (I also own a cheap Aiptek camcorder that outputs Windows Media Files, and the DVD burning works perfectly with it). My OS is Windows XP with k-lite codecs installed. Am I missing a codec or using the wrong ones?

First thing to be sure is that there really is no sound on the DVD, and it's not just a compatibility thing with your player. Can you play the DVD in another player to confirm that there's no sound?

Otherwise, can you try taking an extra step and convert the .mod files to .wav or something else before you bring them into the editing application?
