    Acceptable video

I have several full size vintage camcorders and I do not expect to produce a hollywood quality movie, but is it possible to create at least an acceptable video with these without having to go the digital route which, for me is pretty expensive? This question also refers to audio-video
dubbing, audio insertion, video insertion, etc. etc. Hopeyacanhelp.

Just imho, if it's just to archive some events or situations that does not depend on the quality then I'd say, wysiwyg. You'll have to experiment in low light, outdoors, and any other expectations of usage to determine it's quality first hand. As long as it looks & sounds ok, I wouldn't worry about it. If anything else, I'd make a one dub generation of it but that's as far as I would go.

Better yet - make a VCD to have a digital master afterwards.
