How to Organize Photo and Image Files

Organizing your photos and image files can be a nightmare. The downside to easy digital photography and massive hard drive storage is that your files obey the rule of junk propagation - they expand to fill the available space. This can quickly leave you with gigabytes of uncontrolled image files.

Gaining control over your images isn't actually that hard, but it does take a small effort to get started. There are two things you'll need to do:

Above all, the golden rule of file organization is this: Always name and correctly store your files as they are created! As soon as you think "I'll rename that one later" your system is doomed!
